What is the Information Disclosure System?
The "Information Disclosure System" refers to a system where public institutions either disclose information they have created or acquired in the course of their duties to requesters (citizens who are information consumers) in the form of access, copies, or reproductions upon request, or provide information they possess voluntarily or as required by laws and regulations through distribution or publication (information provision). This system allows the public to access information held by public institutions.

Q Important notes on information disclosure

Public institutions must decide whether to disclose the information within 10 days of receiving the request (with an extension of 10 days allowed in unavoidable circumstances).

Seeking Third-Party Opinion : If the information requested involves a third party, the public institution must notify the third party immediately and, if necessary, seek their opinion.

Seeking opinions from the information-producing institution : If the requested information was produced by another public institution, the disclosing institution must consult with the producing institution to determine disclosure.

Information Disclosure Review Committee : Public institutions establish and operate a committee to review the disclosure of information and decide on the matters related to the operation of the information disclosure system.

Deliberation by the Information Disclosure Review Committee : Matters where the head of a public institution finds it difficult to decide alone whether to disclose the requested information, as well as other issues related to the operation of the information disclosure system.
